Oct 2026: Tenant Engagement CMS - Kinexio Conversations are now easier to scan and return to
Conversation lists now put the information users are most likely to recognise first: the conversation subject and the latest message. This makes it quicker to find an existing discussion and understand where the conversation has got to without opening every thread.
What it is and why it matters for Tenant Engagement
The conversation list in Kinexio Conversations has been improved to make active discussions easier to identify.
Previously, each conversation row primarily highlighted information about the person who created the conversation and previewed the first message in the thread.
For longer-running conversations, that information becomes less useful over time. Users are generally more likely to recognise a conversation by its subject and want to know what was said most recently.
Conversation rows now lead with the conversation subject and provide a preview of the latest message.
This makes the inbox more useful as conversations grow and helps users quickly decide which threads need attention.
When to use this
The updated view is particularly useful when:
- managing several conversations at the same time;
- returning to a discussion that started several days ago;
- monitoring ongoing conversations with tenants or property teams;
- looking for a conversation about a particular topic; or
- quickly checking the latest activity without opening each thread.
The change applies to Chat buttons configured to use Conversation mode. Traditional Inbox mode is unchanged.
How it works (high-level)
When you open a Conversations-enabled Chat area, each conversation row now prioritises:
- the conversation subject;
- the most recent message in the thread; and
- information that helps indicate the latest conversation activity.
As new replies are added, the preview reflects the latest part of the discussion rather than continuing to show the original opening message.
The conversation itself works as before — this update is designed to make the list of conversations more useful and easier to navigate.
Best practice tips
- Use clear and specific conversation subjects so threads remain easy to identify later.
- Avoid very generic subjects such as “Question” or “Help” when a more descriptive title can be used.
- Check the latest-message preview before opening a thread to help prioritise conversations that require attention.
- Continue an existing conversation where the subject is still relevant rather than creating a new thread for every reply.
- If a discussion moves onto a significantly different topic, consider starting a new conversation with a more appropriate subject.
