Oct 2026: Forms - Preview published forms in the Form Library

Choosing the right form is now simpler. Published forms can be opened and read in full from the Form Library before they are assigned, so you can check the content first and pick the right version with confidence.

What it is and why it matters security operations

Form Library Preview is a new enhancement that lets users open a published form in the Form Library and read it in full before it is used.

Previously, there was no way to see the full content of a published form from the Form Library before assigning it. Where several similar forms or versions existed, users had to rely on the form name alone, which could lead to the wrong form being chosen.

With this update, a published form can be previewed in full before anyone uses it. This removes the guesswork from choosing a form, reduces the risk of rolling out the wrong version and saves time correcting mistakes later.

When to use this

This feature is useful any time you need to check a form before putting it to work.

It is particularly relevant if you:

  • manage a library with several similar forms or versions
  • are assigning a form created by someone else
  • want to confirm the questions and layout before a form goes to your teams
  • are reviewing your form library as part of an audit or tidy-up

For example, if your library contains two fire safety inspection forms, you can preview each one to confirm which is the current version before assigning it.

How it works at a high level

Published forms in the Form Library can now be opened in a preview.

The preview shows the form in full, so the questions and structure can be read from start to finish before the form is assigned.

Previewing a form does not change it or record a submission. It is simply a way to check the content first.

Best practice tips

To get the most value from this update, we recommend the following:

  • Preview before you assign: Make a quick preview part of your routine whenever a form is assigned, particularly if you did not build it yourself.

  • Check the whole form, not just the first page: Read through to the end so that later pages and follow-up questions are confirmed as well.

  • Use clear form names alongside the preview: The preview confirms the content, but clear names and version references still make the right form quicker to find.

  • Review your library regularly: Use the preview to identify outdated or duplicate forms so the library stays easy to manage.
