Creating a Booking System

The place where your Booking Configuration is housed

A Booking System is a container for each set of Spaces that a you wish to make available for booking.

At the moment, the creation of a new booking system has to be made through the Kinexio team, so if you would like to request one, please reach out to either your account manager or support@kinexio.io who will be able to put you in touch.

The container (system) can contain lots of Spaces (e.g. “many Meeting Rooms”) across different types of Space (e.g. “Meeting Room”, “Board Room”, “Telephone Booth”).

The system could also include different types of Space Types (e.g. “Meeting Room”, “Board Room”, “Telephone Booth”, but also “Delivery Bay“, “Advertising Hoarding”, “Fitness Class”).
In other words, whatever you would like Bookings to be made for!

However, you should be aware that:

  • All items in a single Booking system have shared settings, i.e. they will use the same Statuses, the same Status Flows, and the same Status Actions

This means that, if you have your “Meeting Room” spaces and your “Fitness Class” spaces in the same Booking System, they have to be booked in the same way - they will follow the same flow through the statuses and trigger the same status actions.

If this is a problem, the you can just request a separate Booking System and you can configure that Booking System with different Statuses, Status Flows, and Status Actions - this allows the you to separate their Spaces by the way that they are booked.

It is also worth noting that the App will show all bookable Spaces for a Booking System, so the you may wish to have separate Booking Systems based on the user profile of the people who will want to book the spaces.

Example

A shopping centre might choose to have two separate systems:

  • “Delivery Bays” for loading access

  • “Community Room” for tenant bookings
