Aug 2026: Deadzone App - Smarter sync, even on weak signal

Why it matters

Previously, a weak connection could leave staff unsure if a scan had actually gone through.

When to use this

Automatically applies to every patrol scan — no setup needed. Most noticeable in buildings or areas with poor mobile signal.

How it works at a high level

On a good connection, scans process instantly as before. On a weak or dropped connection, scans are safely queued on the device and clearly marked "we'll send it when we can," then synced automatically once signal returns.

Best practice tips

If you see the "we'll send it when we can" message, don't rescan or wait around — your scan is already captured. If you know you're heading somewhere and you lose signal just keep the app running in the background until it syncs once you're back in range.
