Apr 2026: Critical Comms - Multi-team panic alert targeting

Panic Button notifications can now be sent to multiple recipient groups at the same time. This ensures that critical alerts reach all relevant teams instantly, improving coordination and response during incidents.

What's new?

  • Ability to select multiple stores or recipient groups for Panic Button alerts

  • Notifications are sent to all selected groups simultaneously

  • Greater flexibility in configuring alert distribution

  • Improved coverage for critical communications

Why this matters

  • Ensures more operational teams receive alerts at the same time

  • Supports faster, more coordinated responses across sites

  • Reduces the risk of a critical alert being missed

  • Improves safety and communication in high-pressure situations

When to use this

This feature is particularly valuable in the following scenarios:

Large or multi-zone sites

  • Notify security, facilities, and management teams simultaneously
  • Ensure full site awareness during incidents

Multi-team operations

  • Alert different departments (e.g. security, cleaning, operations) at once
  • Avoid delays caused by sequential communication

High-risk or time-critical incidents

  • Trigger immediate responses from all relevant stakeholders
  • Improve reaction times in emergencies

Out-of-hours coverage

  • Send alerts to multiple teams covering different shifts or responsibilities
  • Ensure someone is always notified, regardless of timing

How It Works (High-Level)

  1. Navigate to your Panic Button or Alert Settings in the CMS

  2. Locate the notification or recipient configuration

  3. Select multiple stores or recipient groups

  4. Save your changes

When a Panic Button is triggered:

  • Notifications are sent to all selected groups at the same time

  • Each group receives the alert based on their notification settings

Best practice tips

  • Include all relevant response teams when configuring alerts

  • Avoid over-selecting groups to prevent unnecessary noise

  • Regularly review recipient groups to ensure accuracy

  • Test alerts to confirm all teams receive notifications as expected
